What Influences Me
Inspiration is one of the most powerful tools we have that can provide us with hope, strength, and empowerment to triumph adversity.
The wonderful thing about inspiration is that it can be found almost anywhere and everywhere. It can be found in a piece of music, a book, a movie, a poem, in art or in nature, the list is truly endless. Inspiration is one of those things that no one can take away from you. You can carry it in your mind and in your heart always.
I am constantly seeking sources of inspiration. I spend my time in nature, appreciating the incredible beauty and serenity it provides. I love to read books about others who have overcome and embraced incredible adversity in their lives. Music is my biggest inspiration though. The rhythms’, the beats, and the lyrics of various genres and eras sooth my soul’s core. Music helps us catalog the soundtrack of our lives.

My good friend Sheri Fink inspires me and her bestselling book “The Little Rose”. This book is a timeless, heart-warming story about embracing who you really are. Finely detailed, irresistible illustrations bring to life this endearing story of a little rose growing amongst a bed of weeds. Teased by the ugly weeds around her, the Little Rose nearly gives up but then learns to accept and love herself for what she really is, a beautiful rose. “The Little Rose” story empowers kids ages 5-10 to embrace their unique gifts and believe in themselves, despite their current circumstances.
Music moves me, music inspires me and never before have I been so inspired as I am through Playing for Change. Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.
I must extend many thanks and love to my personal mentor and teacher, Dr. Wayne Dyer. Dr. Dyer’s keynotes and books inspire and equip us with the tools and knowledge to embrace true personal wellness.
